R.U.O.K.? Daily check-in calls could save a life.

The simple power of asking, ‘Are you okay?’ comes alive through the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office free telephone calling service, R.U.O.K. program.

The program makes daily calls to older adults or people with disabilities around the same time to make sure they are okay. If no one answers, then a follow up call is made. If a third call is missed, emergency responders are called to check on the person.

Signing up is easy and free and could save a life.

If you know someone who is in need of daily check-ins, let them know about the program, or call 508-994-8932 to enroll or for more information.

The service is operated in cooperation with local police departments and Councils on Aging and is available to communities in Bristol County, including Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven and New Bedford.
