Special town hall will look at mental health during a pandemic

Beth Perdue

If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us is that change can happen when we collectively raise our voices and speak up for what we believe.

That’s true for issues around equity and it’s true for creating a community where mental health and well-being is supported and available for all.

If you believe in these goals, then consider adding your voice to a virtual town hall taking place tomorrow, Aug. 11, from 3-4:30 p.m.

The conversation, featuring local legislators, US Rep. Willam Keating and Mass Rep. Chris Hendricks, will focus on funding and strategies to address the opioid crisis and mental health needs in a COVID world.

Join Help and Hope Southcoast and the Greater New Bedford Opioid Task Force for this important discussion.

If we’re going to create positive change around mental health and well-being in the Southcoast, we first need to make sure adequate support and funding exists to meet the needs in our communities — particularly now, in 2020, with the added stresses brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Join in. Ask questions and let our legislators know this issue is important to you. It will make a difference for all of us.
